2. Be specific about what to change

Vague requests (“make it better” or “fix the middle”) slow things down. Instead, list concrete changes: “In paragraph 3, please add a second example from Smith (2020)” or “The conclusion should restate the thesis and mention X.” Refer to your original instructions or rubric so the writer knows what “done” looks like. If the draft missed part of the brief, say which section or requirement. For research papers or college papers, point to the exact place (e.g. “Methods section, sample description”).

3. One round vs multiple rounds

Many services include one or more free revision rounds. Use the first request to cover all main issues at once — structure, missing content, tone, citation — so you don’t run out of rounds.
